Openfire will unload MUC rooms from memory after a certain period of inactivity has passed. These rooms remain functional though (they're re-loaded on demand).

The Openfire admin console does not show these rooms, acting as if they're not there. This can lead to confusion.

Care must be taken when loading information regarding every room in the database, as this is known to slow-down instances that have large amounts of rooms.
