Spark is showing received message twice in MUC private chat

Description

reported at: http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/message/196319

This has started form the Beta and is the same with the latest SVN versions. If one starts a private chat with someone in a MUC room, he then stars to receive all messages twice.
This happens when private chat originator uses Spark, or when JIDs discovery is disabled in that room. I have tested this with Exodus. It seems that Exodus is just starting normal one-on-one chat, not a private MUC chat, when JIDs discovery is allowed. Spark is always starting a private chat. Dont know what standards tell about that. When user starts a private chat in Spark (or with some other client like Exodus when JIDs discovery is disabled), tab name is "user_you_start_chat_with - room's_name".

I went ahead and filed this as OF-694. As i mention on the ticket, you have an option to delete current room and recreate it, then it won't show old history anymore.

This is not related to this ticket and you should post this on the forums.

Hi. . we are facing similar kind of issue for Spark client in version 2.6.3.
Description> when I enabled the show entire history option in Openfire adminconsole under
group chat > groupchat setting > service properties > history setting > show entire chat history
for a while and then set back to the default setting do not show history , the chat for the paerticular period is repeating whenever we re opening a group chat .
Example> I enabled the show entire chat history option aon 28th august from 2.30 PM to 2.32 PM then change the settting . The chat history for 28th August from 2.30 PM to 2.32 PM is appearing first every day in chat window whenever I open the chatroom. Its affecting the business , please let me know when I can stop this.
