remove top-left JMC window
When i right click systray icon a small window with JMC and close cross appears in upper left desktop corner.
Win2000 + Java 1.6
WinXp + Java 1.5
Probably all Windows installations
Sorry for the confusion, I was unclear myself as to what our configuration was until I spoke with our sysadmin a few minutes ago. Spark is installed on each XP computer individually, with our "brass" server acting as the locus of the chat service. We have uninstalled and reinstalled his client locally to no avail, as well as the java updates (locally) mentioned above.
Need to clarify. Is your Spark client installed on a Windows Server 2008 and all the users are running the same installation of it from the server, or is Spark installed individually on every client with XP? I wanted to suggest to try Spark 2.6.0 RC1, but i thought you were running it from the server and then it may be not the best solution. I don't have any ideas what can cause that, especially only on one client. This bug (describe in this ticket) was surely fixed and i have never seen such jmc windows since.
Hmmm, good question. I did an update to the users local java installation to no avail. I believe we are using the built in java (just did a standard install of the spark client locally and its been functioning for all other users in the domain (~100). Also, the small windows appears seemingly randomly, without the user having to click anything or perform any action.
Are you using built-in Java (Spark/jre folder) or Java which installed on this server? What version of Java if the latter?
