A bug occurs while trying to usegroup-related functionality in an LDAP-based user base.
From the forum thread:
We have OpenFire setup to connect (with a read-only user) to our company's Active Directory. When we use the various test screens in the Profile Settings section of OpenFire's administration section, everything appears to work fine.
Once we try to update sharing information on groups or want to view the groups list, we get hammered by errors in the logfile:

I have a problem since I upgraded from OpenFire 3.5 to 3.6.3 with LDAP or rather Active Directory.
We have just merged a fix for this issue against the current master branch (which will be the future 4.5.0 release). I'd encourage people to test out this fix and provide feedback preferably before the 4.5.0 release is made. Our nightly builds should offer a good test bed.

I believe this is still valid.

Anybody on this ticket able to comment on its current relevance with 3.10.2 release?

Hi there,
This issue is still outstanding and causing a LOT of headaches for us. For example: the more users we get, the more errors are dumped in the logs (which I can't seem to turn off/influence what is logged) and the more IO is caused. This in turn is causing connectivity issues for users.
Are you planning to fix this?
Just as an example: logs are rotated as per default setup but all 5 get filled up within 1 minute.
Cheers, Martijn

Hi,
I reassigned to Guus, but we are all volunteers here and working/tested patches certainly help the process along.
